Introductory Session

Let’s first have an introductory session (1 class)!
Why? to gauge if the child truly has a want or desire to learn how to dance—
does the child want to be taught new movements by a teacher?
Can this child keep the focus on the teacher? Is this child eager to see “what comes next”?
If it’s “yes”: then they’ll be able to imitate each movement or pathway.
If the attention and focus
is easily diverted to anything but the teacher,
it becomes impossible to transmit the teaching of movement or dance.
This introductory session is as much for the child’s benefit—to orient them so they see what dance class is really about—as it is for the teacher!
-personalized dance is enriched by the study of existing dance vocabulary-
